Frequently Asked Questions

Can I complete this online?

Unfortunately, this research involves some time-sensitive components which means it can only be completed physically at the Department of Psychology in the Australian National University, Canberra. Please visit here for information on how to get to the Department to see if you will be able to participate.

What kind of romantic relationship should I be in?

There is no restriction on the the type of relationship that you are in. It just needs to be what you consider a committed romantic relationship to make you eligible for participation.

Can I complete this in a group?

At the moment, we do not have the capacity to run group sessions. However, we are interested in being able to do so, and are arranging facilities to accommodate groups. Please let me know if you are interested in coming with a group of participants and I will inform you on our progress towards arranging group facilities.

I work full time - is it possible to complete this in my lunch break?

It is unlikely that this study will fit into a normal, one hour lunch break. It is difficult to find a park at the ANU and the study itself takes about 30-45 minutes on top of transportation times. As we require participants to be giving the study their full attention while they are completing it, we do not recommend trying to rush and fit it into a lunch break.

I work full time and can't make it during business hours. Can I do the study outside business hours?

I am happy to arrange this. Please contact me to inquire about a time that suits you to complete the study.

I would prefer cash rather than a movie ticket. Can I have this instead?

At this stage, I am only offering movie tickets as incentives. Depending on the popularity of this incentive, this may change, but presently movie tickets are the only incentive.

I would like a movie ticket to a cinema rather than Dendy or Hoyts. Is this possible?

At the moment, I am only offering Dendy or Hoyts tickets. However, this may change depending on demand.
